Common Ground Kolektiv

"FACES OF US" is an expressive Open Call Photo Submission that invites artists to explore the complex tapestry of human experience through portraiture. This collective shall showcase an array of portraits that reflect individual identities, collective narratives, and the connections that bind us. Each photograph tells a unique story, capturing the essence of our lives and the relationships we forge.
Join us in celebrating the brilliance of diversity and the shared moments that may depict our creative presence as a Filipino community abroad.
Who can submit

We welcome submissions from photography enthusiasts aged 18 years old and above.

Filipinos living, working, and travelling overseas.

The theme for the 2025 OPEN CALL is focused on different types of Portraiture.

The photographer must be the author of the photographs submitted in their name.
Eligibility
-
A photographic image that is produced electronically from any image-capturing device or an analogue camera.

The image may be post-processed, manipulated, distorted, or otherwise transformed. However, if the basis was a photographic image, and that image is still the dominant visual element, then it remains a photograph.

AI-generated images are not eligible for the OPEN CALL Submission.
Submissions

The submission deadline is on March 31, 2025, at 11:59PM. All entries must have accurate captions and descriptions written in English or Filipino.

20 Photos will be shortlisted for the digital gallery's possible inclusion in a photo exhibition in the future.

You may submit up to THREE entries. You may submit a maximum of five (5) images PER entry.

We charge a 100nok/8.50€ Submission Fee. This covers file management, storage, and other project expenses.

Payment of the Submission Fee does not guarantee that your image will be chosen and printed for the digital or onsite exhibition.

All digital files must be sent in JPEG OR TIFF (preferably) format with a size of at least 12 megapixels at 300 DPI.​
Selection and Curation

Photographers whose works were selected will be notified via email.

Common Ground Kolektiv will send a conforme and contract to be signed by the participating artists.

The final presentation of the works will be decided by the curatorial team from Common Ground Kolektiv representative and invited curators.

Three (3) photographs will be printed and given to the photographers.
Inclusions

Your images will be shown in a possible Open Call exhibition.

Common Ground Kolektiv reserves the right to decide how the photo will be exhibited. This may be in print, projection, or any other.

Your image/s will be offered for sale as 8” x 10” Gallery Prints on the Common Ground Kolektiv website, as an affordable, limited run, open-edition print. Artists get 90% of the Net Proceeds of the sale of each print.

Inclusion of your image/s in the Common Ground Kolektiv PhotoBook.

All OPEN CALL participants will be eligible for all workshop (virtual or face-to-face) of the Common Ground Kolektiv and other future activities.
